Join us for an exciting event at the Shepherd: Designing for Detroit’s Little Village
Wednesday, October 15 at 6:00 PM
Design has long been a Detroit signature, and it is becoming a hallmark of the city’s East Side, where artists, architects, curators, planners, and entrepreneurs are building a vibrant cultural arts district. Anchored by the Shepherd, a new arts and culture institution in a refurbished church, the Little Village district hosts several arts organizations and businesses in a growing number of new and renovated buildings. OMA, OSD, SO–IL, and Undecorated are among the architecture and landscape firms contributing, along with Taubman-College-affiliated practices 1+1+ Architects, Dash Marshall, M1DTW, and T+E+A+M.
Hear from some of the key figures involved in this panel discussion:
Andrew Blauvelt, Director, Cranbrook Art Museum
Antoine Bryant, Managing Director, Gensler
Jing Liu, Principal, SO-IL
Meredith Miller, Director of Master of Architecture and Associate Professor, Taubman College; Principal Architect, T+E+A+M
Introduction by Anthony Curis, Co-Founder, Library Street Collective
Moderated by Jonathan Massey, Dean and Professor of Architecture, Taubman College
