Try your hand at printmaking at LANTERN, a mixed-use arts and retail development on Detroit’s East Side. The tenants of LANTERN are hosting a print jam, where you’ll be able to work with staff from Signal Return and the Progressive Arts Studio Collective (PASC) to create one original artist print at no cost.
We will be producing 4 sets of prints from an edition of 20 each, created by PASC artists Nathaniel McNeal Jr. and Eric Green and resident LANTERN artists Paul Verdell and Olivia Guterson. During this event, the first set of 10 prints from each artist will be offered for free to neighborhood residents. The remaining 10 prints in each set will be sold through Signal Return following the event.
This event will take place in the courtyard of LANTERN, or in the adjacent businesses in case of rain. Enjoy a fun, festive atmosphere with music provided by Coup D’état, drinks available for purchase from Collect Beer Bar, and a food truck. The goal of the print jam is making high quality contemporary art accessible to local residents and other collectors in the community through a fun, communal event. This is a collaboration between Coup D’Etat, Signal-Return, PASC, and Collect Beer Bar.
